GARAGE DOOR STRUTS

Garage door struts stiffen door sections to prevent them from bending or breaking. They add rigidity and strength for long life and smooth operation. If the sections are not rigid, the garage door may bind as it opens and closes.

Residential Single Car Doors

  • At least one strut across the top section is recommended to prevent the top of the door from bending easily

Residential Two Car Doors

  • One to Three are recommended - just the top panel, or additional one on the third panel from the top and for heavier doors one more on the bottom panel

Struts strengthen the door sections and do an important job to reduce bending and breaking of panels. Struts also aid in doors opening and closing smoothly. Depending on the type and size of your door, your door should have certain amount of struts as noted above. If your door needs replacement struts or new struts added, give us a call. We will install or replace the struts based on your garage door size, type and weight.
